AdvaCare is a GMP manufacturer of Marbofloxacin Injection.

Marbofloxacin is a synthetic, broad-spectrum antibiotic under a class of fluoroquinolone drug. It is used in to treat a range of serious bacterial infections.

Marbofloxacin’s primary mechanism of action is to inhibit the bacterial enzymes, which eventually leads to the death of the bacteria.

In cattle, it is used in the treatment of respiratory infections caused by susceptible strains of Pasteurella multocida, Mannheimia haemolytica and Histophilus somni. It is recommended in the treatment of acute mastitis caused by Echerichia coli strains susceptible to Marbofloxacin during the lactation period.

In pigs, it is used in the treatment of Metritis Mastitis Agalactia Syndrome (MMA syndrome, postpartum dysgalactia syndrome, PDS) caused by bacterial strains susceptible to Marbofloxacin.

Indications

Contra-indications

Bacterial infections with resistance to other fluoroquinolones (cross resistance). Administration of medication to an animal previously found to be hypersensitive to marbofloxacin or other quinolone is contradicted.

Administration and Dosage

The recommended dosage is 2mg/kg/day (1ml/50kg) of marbofloxacin injections given intramuscularly to the intended livestock or pet, any increase in dosage should be supervised by your animal care specialist. Marbofloxacin injection shouldn’t be administered if any hypersensitivity is discovered.
Refer to an animal care specialist for guidelines on dosage. Do not exceed what they advise, and complete the full treatment, as stopping early can result in a recurrence or worsening of the problem.

Storage

Store below 25ºC, in a cool and dry place, and protect from light.
