Indications

TOLFCID 80 can be used in cattle, sheep, goats, camelids, horses and swine. TOLFCID 80 is a potent tetravalent agent: antiinflammatory, antipyretic, antitoxic and analgesic. It is indicated in: Cattle, sheep, goats, camelids, horses: acute cattle mastitis treatment, associated to an antibiotic treatment. The tolfenamic acid is the only NSAID proven to treat mastitis with only one dose. For treatment of bacterial respiratory diseases associated with acute swelling, apply with an antibiotic therapy. It can be used for the treatment of any pathology cursing with fever, swelling and/or pain.
Swine: treatment of mastitis-metritis-agalactia syndrome (MMA) in sow associated to an antibiotic therapy. Treatment of respiratory bacterial diseases associated to an antibiotic therapy. In the treatment of any pathology cursing with fever, swelling and/or pain and in all cases that requires an antiinflammatory, analgesic and/or antipyretic therapy.

Contraindications

TOLFCID 80 is contraindicated in cardiac or hepatic diseases and in bleeding digestive ulcers cases. If there is evidence of hypersensitivity, cease the use of the product.

Administration and Dosage

Cattle, sheep, goats, camelids and horses:
The tolfenamic acid is the only authorized non steroidal antiinflammatory drug with a 48 hour action. It is usually administered 1 mL/ 40 kg (2 mg/kg). In mastitis and respiratory infection cases: a single dose of 1 mL/ 40 kg of body weight (2mg/kg) by intramuscular or slow endovenous route. The dosage will be effective for 48 hours.
In case the infectious process continues it might be necessary a second dosage after 48 hours.
If the endovenous route is used (in particular cases of very acute infections), apply a single dose of 1 mL/ 20 kg (4mg/kg) or a 2 consecutive day treatment at a dosage of 1 mL/20 kg (2 mg/kg).
Swine: a single dosage of 1 mL/ 40 kg of body weight by deep intramuscular route in the neck muscle. When a considerable number of animals are being treated, the use of exchangeable needles is recommended.

Withdrawal Period

Tolfenamic acid has been proven in dairy cattle with a particularly short withdrawal period (0 to 1 milk after the last administration).
Cattle, goats, sheep and camelids:
Meat: 3 days.
Milk: during the treatment.
Swine:
Meat: 3 days.

Storage

Store below 30°C, in a dry place, and protect from light.
